Hello Paranormal World,

So what are we doing?  Right now we are reviewing materials collected from our Joint Investigation with the members of P.A.S.T.

As most of you will remember South Sound Paranormal Research was the first, and second team to ever investigate the ship, USS Turner Joy.

On August 7th 2010, South Sound Paranormal Research, and the P.A.S.T. team, joined forces to investigate the USS.Turner Joy, in Bremerton Washignton.  This Naval Destroyer was the first US Naval ship to fire into Vietnam, and the last US Naval to fire out.  With a history of 4 commanders being taken off the ship for, shall we say "stress" related problems, one even commited suicide while commanding the ship, you know this ship has a few tales to tale.

Okay here is the run down 16 investigaters,( Ellen, Jay, Ulie, Uncle Russ, Badger,Trisha, Sue, Lavonnica, Patty, Billi, Tonya, Jessica, Lori, Matt, Eric, and Nick), countless numbers of ghost hunting equipments, and one Naval Destroyer, WOO HOO what a night!

It was a cold and stormy night in August, no seriuosly it was cold and rainning that night, we embarked on our investigation around 7:30 PM (1930), we set up command center in the Ward room (Commanders, conference room), then we left the ship for a bite to eat.  Tony, (Night Crew member USS Turner Joy), locked the gate behind us, SSPR has worked with Tony before and found him to be very likeable, and very honest.

Returning from our dinner, we split into 3 member teams, then set out for locations on the ship with known activity.

Lets just say the personal experiences are to numerous to count!  The audio, and video, collected are yielding several hits.

EVPs collected ranger from very low, to as if the person was standing in the room with you in other words "VERY clear".

I am not going to give too much away, because both teams will be presenting our evidence at the Yakima Paranormal Conference in September, 10-12 2010.  This conference if open to the public, and the cost of admission is one can of food for the local food bank.

SSPR is grateful to have had this experience to work with P.A.S.T., and we look forward to our next adventure with them.

So for now, we would like to remind all of you if it goes bump in the night, dont go running away from it but call us and we will come running to it for you.

Be safe, be happy, be aware.

Patty

What we are up to, and smudging. PDF Print E-mail

Hi everyone, so what has SSPR been up to?  Well lets see, We have had a few new investiations, and we have another three in the works.  This August we are conducting a joint investigation with P.A.S.T. from Yakima.   In September several members from SSPR will be traveling to Yakima for the Yakima Paramornal Convention.  If you are in the Yakima area during the weekend of Sept 10-12, stop by, and say hello.

So recently several people have been asking about smuging their home, or business to get rid of unwanted spirits, and they have asked if we know anything about doing this.  Well Yes, and NO, I will explain, throughout human history smudging has been used not only for physical healing but for spiritual as well, in Catholicism the use of the incenses is likened to ones's prayer, being kindled by the fire in the heart spoken by the lips resulting in the order of Christ on the breath.

Native Americans use smudging in both cleansing, and releasing of energy, as well as bring forth good energy.  This is probably the most common use of smudging we come across while doing paranormal investigating.

Sage is used for healing, to wash away unwanted influences, and to bless and cleanse negative energy.

Cedar is a medicine of protection, in addition to using sage when cleansing a home or business it is common to use cedar as well, this incense is powerful in getting rid of unwanted spirits, and protecting the residents.

Sweetgrass is used to bring the blessings of Mother Earth

If you are going to do a smudging to rid your home, or business of  unwanted spirits, it would probably be good to use a combination of the three examples given above.

If you are in the South Puget sound area I would suggest contacting Mystic Wonders, a metaphysical store in this area.  WWW.MYSTICSHOPPE.COM, ONLINE OR (253)584-4875.

Why Smudging, well as I explained in the previous paragraph, smudging is as old as fire for cleansing a home, or business of unwanted spirits.  Even though some members of SSPR have used this method in prior investigations to help an ease a families anxeity about their home being haunted, we do not normally do any type of home clearing, or blessing, we are merely there to document the possiblities of paranormal activity.

Well I hope this has cleared a few questions about smudging.

South Sound Paranormal Research is always out there to help in what ever questions that come our way.

We hope all of you have a fantastic summer, and a very safe one too.  Until next time, be safe, and by all means be happy!

Hello Paranormal World.

This past weekend ( April 23-25 ), five members of SSPR attended the Mt Hood Paranormal Conference, in Oregon.

Patty, Bill, Lori, Tonya, and Jessica, arrived on Friday evening to find our rustic cabin at Mt Hood Village.  Settling in we decided to check out the confenence.

There were a couple of vendors and other paranormal teams setting up booth.  We attended a ghost story talk given by Mike Jones Oregon state Historian. The evening was an early one the first night, we decided to hit one of the local taverens called the "Whistle Stop".  Being up in the woods, and away for a major city or town, they had pretty good food.

Early saturday morning we got ready for a day of ghost talks, and adventures.  Stoping first at the Blackberry Cafe ( SSPR Thumbs up award for great breakfast ).  We attended the conference, there were several speakers rangeing form authors who wrote books on famous haunting to local historians talking about places in the Northwest.

Later in the evening we all attended a ghost tour/investigation at a local homestead.  We teamed up with P.A.S.T a group from Yakima Washington.  This was a very fun pairing, the three members from P.A.S.T., were a HOOT!  it was as if they were our crazy, but fun relatives from the east side of Washigntons, and I am sure they probably thought the same of us.  We laughed and giggles our way through the tour.  I know we are bad.

After the tour, we met up with them at another local watering hole called "the Inn Between,"  we were joined by Rocky from Oregon City Haunted tours, Dennis from the Shang Hi Tunnels, and Cathy.  We told stories and Laughed until we cried.

Getting back to our cabins, still feeling silly I (Patty), decided to tag their truck with one of our bumperstickers.  So I employeed the services of Tonya, and Lori to help me.  So off we were on our cloak and dagger misson to tag them.  Not having any tape, we decided to use a couple of band aids.  Mission accomplished!!

The next morning while sitting on the couch getting things ready for that day, I had the feeling someone was out side, peeking through the curtins, I spotted Ellen, and Ulie, placing P.A.S.T fliers on our cars.  I whispered to Billi, and we opened the door quickly yelling out "HEY!", those guys about jumped out of their skin.  Ellen commented " you scared the sh*t out of us"  like being a kid getting caught by their parents.

Both groups went to breakfast together. ( Blackberry Cafe ), attended a few minutes of the conference, took a group photo, and said our farwells, and drove off to our sides of Washignton.  Hey Jay if a man and a woman get divorced in Yakmia.....

I am sure we will be seeing our new friends from P.A.S.T, soon.

All in all, it was a fun weekend, and we made new friends.

Patty
